ISSUE: Are the Catholic Faith and Values in crisis just like the Economy? How recession affects active participation in FAMILY ENCOUNTERS for the majority of its members?
WHAT IS AN ECONOMIC RECESSION?
In recent days, the subject of an economic recession in the U.S. has been a topic of discussion which has placed a bind to almost all financial exchanges institutions in the world.
But what is a recession? A recession is a period of general economic decline, lower production a reduction in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
When the economy, not only ceases to grow, but shows a negative growth and a substantial decrease in production, we face an economic recession, that if prolonged, it is considered a depression.
During a recession, consumers stop spending afraid of the economic future; companies are left with an inventory that nobody wants to buy, causing the collapse of business, leading to the dismissal of thousands of workers and even the closure of many companies.
The company closures and firing of workers increases the crisis. No one wants to invest or spend more than the necessary. Many people will default on their loans; nobody will want to take new loans so the financial sector, one of elements that drive the economy, may collapse as well.
Is it difficult to answer these questions? For sure there is more than one argument, but the act itself draws attention.
Some people, given the insecurity that plagues the country, say that the only thing left is to pray. For this reason, the churches should have more visitors eager to see that miracles are happening.
Will more people reflect more these visits to religious centers and think it's better to act as a good Christian, without having to practice and put their FAITH in ACTION?
It is important that everyone reflect about what he wants at an individual level. But we must also think about the needs to others and together prevent an economic collapse, social and moral in the Family. If not us, then who will?

¿QUÉ ES LA RECESIÓN ECONÓMICA?
En los últimos días ha estado de moda el tema de la recesión económica en los Estados Unidos, que a puesto en aprietos a casi todas las bolsas del mundo.
¿Pero que es una recesión? Una recesión es un decrecimiento de la economía, de la producción, del producto interno bruto de un país.
Cuando la economía, no solo deja de crecer, sino que se presenta un crecimiento negativo, una disminución sustancial en la producción, estamos ante una recesión económica, que si es muy prolongada, se considera una depresión.
Cuando se presenta una recesión, el consumidor preso del temor por futuro económico, deja de gastar, la sociedad ya no consume, y al disminuirse el consumo, las empresas se quedan con un inventario que nadie quiere comprar, provocando el colapso del sector empresarial, llevando el despido de miles de trabajadores e inclusive el cierre de muchas empresas.
El cierre de empresas, el despido de trabajadores acrecientan más la crisis. Nadie querrá invertir ni gastar más de lo necesario. Muchas personas no podrán pagar sus créditos, nadie querrá tomar nuevos créditos por lo que el sector financiero que es uno de los elementos que mueve la economía, puede colapsar también.
¿Es dificil responder estas preguntas? Seguramente hay más de un argumento, pero el hecho en sí mismo llama la atención.
Hay quienes, ante la ola de inseguridad que aqueja al país, dicen que lo único que queda es rezar. Por eso mismo, los templos deberían tener más visitantes ansiosos de ver que los milagros se complen.
¿Será que las personas racionalizan más estas visitas a los centros religiosos y piensan que es mejor actual como buena o buen cristiano, sin tener que practicar y poner su FE en OBRAS?
Es importante que cada quien relexione, en lo más intimo de su ser, sobre lo que le conviene en el plano individual. Pero también tenemos que pensar en lo que le hace falta a otros y actuar de manera conjunta para evitar un colapso económico, social y moral en la Familia. Si no lo hacemos nosotros, ¿quien lo hara?
